I was there in 1999 for the unveiling and confirm that it was rolled around
on a Dolly-like thing

Asa Jay,
I completely agree with you and had noted some of those traits when it
appeared in discussion last time. In addition the photo with Alejandro shows
that car had wipers and there's a reflection in the glass whereas the 'plug'
for sale appears to be solid fiberglass with painted windows.
In some prior photos you could see caster wheels of a dolly underneath that
the shell was moved around on, however with these latest photos on Hemmings
it does appear the body may be sitting on it's own 4 wheel's with distinct
brake rotors and calipers seen behind them.
Julian

I would argue its not the exact same car shown in the unveiling. Note the
absence of side-view mirrors on the doors, and how the original had them and
appeared to be mechanically hinged at the front. The recent photos don't
show any provisions for a mechanical connection of mirrors. The parting
lines between some panels look tight in the modern photos versus more space
on the unveiled version. It also appears a corner light was installed
(passenger side front) but the modern photo shows a solid piece of
bodywork.
Was there more than one of the bodies made? I'm probably just being too
critical.
