Hi guys,

The latest issue of Classic & Sports Car magazine features a shootout comparison between a first generation Lamborghini Countach and a '72 Pantera--coincidentally a car I owned briefly a few years ago:

The article was generally quite favorable, while still rolling out some of the old familiar negative tropes.

The author described the Pantera's persistent understeer. What he failed to mention was that the magazine's insurance restrictions limited him to 45mph max! How the heck could be experience understeer?

Answer--he didn't. He read it in a 40 year old article and just repeated it--along with the '139 mph top speed', which was only true of the very earliest Euro pushbuttons.

Sheesh!

He wasn't even allowed to drive the Countach! But he doesn't say that either.

Still the Pantera came out on top--as it should!

Good, fun reading....

Mike
