#1  -  Mike is correct about the rearmost 6 inches of the outer rocker being readily accessible.

#2  -  I have found a photo that confirms this, ... after... digging through my vast collection of restoration photos. This is the left-hand rocker and the tab at the rear is for attaching the splash shield.
