Ken,

Remember, the role of the threaded screw is only to move the lifting point pack and forth. All the weight is being supported by the steel beam underneath. It won't bend, it won't bind. Lubrication of the screw with engine oil makes it work much better. 

My Harbor Freight unit was more expensive but I think it's a bit longer and thus offers more potential angularity.
