[DeTomaso] Drifting Out of Third Gear - The Rest . . . . . . . of the Story

Mike,

Fwiw when Lloyd Butfoy rebuilds a gearbox, he removes whatever rubber boot is on the shift linkage rod and throws it in the trash and does NOT replace it, for the exact reason you experienced. I was surprised to see that, but he was adamant about it.
