[DeTomaso] Edelbrock Air Gap fit under early screen?

A Weiand Xcelerator 351C-2V intake just fit under my L screen with a drop
base air filter with 2 1/4" K&N filter element. Top of air cleaner lid was
right on top of the vent tube. By my measurement, the Performer RPM Air
Gap is 1/2" taller at the rear so I don't think it will fit.
