[DeTomaso] NPC - Troubleshooting OBDII "Lean Bank 2" Code

Thanks Asa,

This car’s exhaust is all stainless (stock) and is quiet enough that I would hear any leak.

I forgot to mention that the professional garage I took it to did a leak-down test and the readings were fine.

The exhaust flow out each tailpipe at 2500 RPM seems quite equal so there don’t appear to be any restrictions.

Geeez Doug, it sounds like the only thing you haven't replaced is the loose nut behind the steering wheel. ;)

The first thing that came to mind was doing a cylinder leak-down. It seems you've gone after all the other obvious things, that now it may boil down to something more severe and more mechanical. I'm no expert mind you. And what about an exhaust restriction or cracked header?

Hi Guys,

I'm asking "the collective" for ideas on where to go from here on a problem
with my 1998 Mustang Cobra.

About a year and a half ago, it started throwing a P0174 "Lean Bank 2"
Check Engine code and I've done the following in an attempt to fix it.

After each mod was made, it took about 180 miles of driving for the code to
reappear (since this code means the ECU hitting its max long term enrichment
limit).

The car otherwise drives fine, so once this limit is reached, it's still a
very enjoyable drive.
