Just for general purposes, it would be a good idea to post this info to the forum on the Poca we site. There may be many "potential" buyers who don't frequent this email list but who might seek info from the Poca site. And that topic can be marked public by Ed so others (non-members)can read it (but not post). I think this could serve a greater purpose and possibly get people thinking how valuable a membership could be.

I like the registry and the fact that everyone is so engaged. Warm
fuzzes.
But I'm not sure someone new to the Pantera world knows who to
contact. I know I certainly didn't in 2000. I was clueless.

The seller is supposedly located in Tewksbury, MA and the car
advertised as in San Francisco, although someone else was told the car
is in Michigan.

eBay may be reluctant to immediately kill it as no VIN is listed to
verify the actual vehicle for sale. Albeit underhanded sellers will
often use generic photos to represent items for sale.
Also the seller has a 74 feedback, normally these scam artists have
single digit feedback for a few low dollar purchases to build some
credibility, maybe it is a hacked account too.

Steve L. spotted this eBay auction
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112316750098
and asked me about it. Auction looks suspicious to us both.
Finding the car in the registry, I contacted the last known owner to
verify,
as he recently bought it in December. He says the advert is not his,
and the car is not for sale.
Some people are bidding. Ebay has been contacted about the scam, but
have not yet killed the auction.
Hopefully anyone bidding is smart enough to use the registry, and learn
the truth, and protect themselves.
Hate to have anyone scammed.
So I am posting this, for anyone not yet connected to the registry.
