Hi guys--got this today from Geoff Peters in the U.K. (Best man at my wedding at the POCA Fun Rally, you may recall him if you were there). He wrote:

He manged to bring the car to a halt on the central reservation and felt lucky to have escaped without injury. He said the thing that saved his feet from being burnt from the steam was that he was wearing booties which were fashionable in them days! After that incident he was less excited about driving it! He did say he thought it was a very fast car though and very good looking.

I was chatting to Sir Jackie today and he recounted a story that he was
driving in Switzerland with Helen and his son Mark in the yellow
Pantera that Ford had lent him when the heater hose suddenly blew off
from the heater, instantaneously filling the car with steam so much so,
that in an instant he had no vision at all. He manged to bring the car
to a halt on the central reservation and felt lucky to have escaped
without injury. He said the thing that saved his feet from being burnt
from the steam was that he was wearing booties which were fashionable
in them days! After that incident he was less excited about driving it!
He did say he thought it was a very fast car though and very good
looking.
Regards,
Geoff
