Collecting cars that one doesn't drive is a rich man's hobby-- a
hobby that helps to mitigate the value-destroying effects inflation
has on fiat currencies. If one has money lying around and wishes to
retain it's purchasing power, one must get rid of it's currency form
as quickly as possible through buying something that doesn't lose
value as it sits.
Fine art, classic cars, real estate, stock market, precious metals,
etc. are all ways to do this but investing in art and cars are among
the most fun. As I've said before, car collectors who don't drive
them are not so much "car guys" as they are "money guys".....car
collectors who keep them up and running and actually drive them,
thereby sharing them with the rest of us (Jay Leno comes to mind), are
a rare breed indeed.

Chuck & Terry.

Sometimes I'm puzzled by how the "original" cars sell for quite a bit
more
than modified - i.e. fixed all the bugs - cars.
I guess it's about "collecting" versus driving.

Beautiful car. But stock. So… museum piece? That would be a
shame.
