Larry Finch sent me material from his destroyed grill, so I have what I need.

A previous owner cut holes in the mesh in the top right and left
corners for turn signals. It looks like it won't be too hard to
weave in some replacement wire. Does anyone have some scrap pieces
of this stuff?
Ken,
It will be impossible to find wire cloth of the exact same dimensions.
However, it isn't hard to get replacement wire that is 99.9% the same;
the smart thing is to just replace the whole grille rather than trying
to patch it.
I got a sample from the Howard Wire Cloth Company, in Hayward CA.

Ask for
2 Mesh
.080 wire
plain steel
It is virtually indistinguishable from the original, but just different
enough that you probably can't use it for a patch.
