           You will be fine. I've been into mine multiple times and
repaired/replaced motors/gears/stereospeakers.  My most recent misadventure
was to replace the glass, which was more tedious than destructive.  I would
recommend the tech articles at the Pantera Place and the DeTomaso Registry.
Between those two articles I had an excellent map in "uncharted territory".

Gentlemen--
I'm going to open up my doors (for the first time in my ownership) and
secure whatever is rattling around inside them whenever I shut them or hit
bumps in the road. Is there anything I should watch out for so that I don't
destroy something whilst performing door surgery?  I tend to blunder forward
sometimes when wrenching in uncharted territory then reflect later that I
could have avoided this or that unnecessary minor destruction. thx!
