Same thing happened to me on the way to a Fun Rally.  $850.  Ouch.

YUP - nice desert road - no on/off ramps - no bridges = high speed - got me
from the FRONT coming AT ME - so the rearview mirror only worked watching
him do a giant U-turn - THEN he was behind me.
