Robert,

I do things a bit differently (who's surprised?) to find water leak. On my
big Sears shop vac it has a blower connection. I make an adapter plate, with
hole for the vac hose, to fit into the window channel with the window down 5
or 6". You will need to tape the panel in good with painters tape to seal
it. 

The next thing you will need is a spray bottle with a bit of soap in it. I
use my car washing soap so not to mess up my wax job.

When you turn the vac on, with the hose in the "blow hole" you are now
pressurizing the cabin of the car.

Spray the soapy water around and you will see it bubble up where you have a
leak.  You will be surprised by the number leaks you find.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I hope that it could be a case of a leak
trough the went tube.

My car is early model with direct vent, operated by a pull-lever below the
AC control button.

I really think this makes sense as amount of water (roughly 1L I would
estimate) that entered after just quick wash seems impossible to get through
window gasket.I hope!

Now I do not have access to the car till spring, but remember noticing that
window seal has been sealed additionally with black silicon, so hope that is
OK.

Once I get back to Europe will open scrim panels around wipers and check if
I can find what's going on there.

I guess there must be somewhere a drain in there; might be plugged and then
all water just leaks trough vent opening.

In early cars, I believe there was a fresh air "tube" or cylinder that was
installed in the passenger side cowl vent "tub".  In addition there is a
water drain in the cowl vent "tub".  In the event of a crack or corrosion in
the weld that attaches these items ... it could be the source of the leak.

  Dolomites are beautiful.
  On my car (2467) it's the lower windshield seal leaking that fills up
  the glove box.
  It rains in Seattle.

  Hi, every time I wash my Pantera (71 model) I was finding front right

  getting wet in the foot area.
  Last time I happened to open glove box after the wash and it was
