[DeTomaso] Oil Suggestions

Julian,
Is it true, racing oils, in general contain little to no detergents by design? Racing oil is usually changed often, usually after each race and detergents are not necessary. Street cars need detergents?

Thanks for that, I had no idea there were so many formulas

The Mobil 1 Racing has the highest ZDDP at 1750 as it does not have to comply with the mandated specs for street use.

The other weights of Mobil 1 have varying amounts of ZDDP, it looks like the 0-40W FS has 1,000 ppm which I think is the upper limit allowable for the SF rating compliance. Here's the 2016 specs of the various Mobil 1 offerings;

With your new rebuild you'll ideally want to use a good break in oil initially to get the rings seated etc.

So , is synthetic compatible with our Cleveland engines, say 0-40 ? My engine is currently being upgraded and I am hoping to use Mobil One
