I thought I read somewhere just a few weeks ago that Austin is on the
schedule for next year. It¹s always subject to change, but so far so good.
I¹m sure you know the addition of the Saturday night concert with Taylor
Swift was facilitated by Bernie¹s guys to help with making the race a
financial success, which it clearly was. More people here this year than
the first race in 2012. I hope Bernie¹s efforts and the results make a
lasting impressionI too bought 15 seat licenses! Even if it doesn¹t go the
full term, I will be happy to have gotten what I got. With the exception of
losing qualifying (and all of Saturday) last year to the weather, I¹ve truly
enjoyed each of the F1 weekends here. The city and people have thankfully
been very supportive.

I was talking to our hotel owner and he was wondering IF there was
going to be F-1 next year in Austin since it was not on the calendar
yet. BUT - it also has not been on the same date for the past 5 years -
so I told him to relax, they just haven't come up with a specific date
yet. Last year I had heard rumblings that Bernie was worried about
revenue since they added Mexico - too close to Texas. Austin made a
billion dollars from the race, so I don't know, but I paid a LOT of $
for PSL 15 years seats in 2011, like a lot of others. It would really
sour me to find out that was all lost.

Sounds like you all had a great time!
I went to the '13 and '14 races and plan on going back in '17. Our
brush with celebrity came in '14 when a friend and I were eating dinner
after the race on Sunday at one of the taco bars on Congress. We were
chatting and wondering where all the drivers were "partying" that
night, when Nico Rosberg and his wife walked out from one of the back
rooms in the restaurant, stood right next to our booth and chatted with
a few fans before being whisked off by a third person in their group.
My friend and I could not believe it!
Perhaps we'll see you next year!
