[DeTomaso] No racing again at the 2017 POCA Fun Rally?

Dear Dan,

         See below.

I guess I’m not allowed to post my opinion on The Forum if I’ve decided, after 25 years, that I don’t like the direction POCA went?
$$$$$ Au contraire. It is allowed to post your opinion.

Better to stay silent and let the Club think it’s doing great by dropping the racing.
$$$$$ Your choice. I don't think that the club believes that "it is doing great by dropping racing". As has been discussed, the invisible hand of economics and demographics has made the track option a much bigger undertaking financially for a smaller and smaller (remember the demographics) band of racers. I, too, greatly miss the track events as a photographer.

And did I miss something else? Is the Forum only for paid POCA members now?
$$$$ No....

And are we back to censorship?
$$$$$ Au contraire.

I better shut up. Sorry.
$$$$$ I don't think that there is anything you can do for 2017. You could consider applying your enthusiasm and efforts to the 2018 Rally. Perhaps things might fall together for the racers consulting and cooperating with POCA and/or the Rally Committee.

                  Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

Hi Dan

I can't find you in the POCA membership database. Are you a member? If not, then what is you investment in our club? If you are a member, give me your details of payment and we will have Judy McCarthy straighten it out.

Iam really, really disappointed that POCA is once again ignoring and
alienating the racers in the Club.
Two years in a row without a track event? Whatas the point in having a
Pantera track car if you canat compete against other Panteras?
Parade laps are nice for daily drivers but not worth trailering a race
car for a 1,000 mile trip.
I thought last year was a one time foul-up, but now itas looking like
the Club doesnat care about itas racing contingency, or about the
     Pantera racing tradition.
As of this moment Iad say count me, The Beast and The Winged Warrior,
     out.
Maybe Iall get over this by Spring, if anyone cares, but I strongly
feel that the ability to host a Pantera track day should be a top
priority in selecting a venue for any Fun Rally.
