[DeTomaso] Magnaflux cracks - now what?

I would think that the crack is just not on top but goes down the water
jacket inside.

Okay, here's a dumb question but it might help me learn a thing or two. Why
couldn't you heat up(red hot) that area of the block and then TIG weld it
and retap the threads?
