[DeTomaso] Magnaflux cracks - now what?

          As an amateur Cleveland engine builder, I agree with Asa.  Yes, it can be reused, but with respectable chances for failure at some point.  If you junk it and obtain a sonicly tested block, then the likelihood of failure drops considerably.

My opinion....  new block.

Those head bolts go into the water jacket as I recall but that's not the real problem here.  Those are HEAD BOLTS.  So picture this.  The cracks grow under stress and eventually break a piece free.  Now the head bolt no longer has sufficient clamping force to the block and more problems will ensue.

Just me thinking out loud.
