[DeTomaso] NPC: Microsoft is sneaking the Windows 10 update onto PCs

Sorry Thomas. I said Mac OS-X (not MacOS which was jettisoned long ago). Mac OS-X is most
certainly Linux. Not belabor the point, but I have the complete history, where when and why
if you are interested. ;-)

Sorry Terry, MacOS is definitely not Linux. 😜

Based on BSD/Mach AFAIK, so closer to Solaris than Linux, which I know you like, or at least used to like 😬

I still enjoy seeing clips from various Mission Controls and seeing Sun branded monitors and keyboards.

Cheers,
Thomas

Welcome to WWM. Wonderful World of Microsoft. I don't like Apple
   either, but Mac's run Linux
(OS-X) and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Unix. Best development system ever. And
   always has been since the
release of the Mach3 Kernel. Very stable and easy to maintain. IMHO
Make the switch. You will never go back. We are almost 99% Mac's within
   JPL.
PS - I run Windoze7 in a Vmware virtual machine (VM) within my Mac.
NEVER had a problem over the
last ~5 years. Best $50 I ever spent. (I have 2 Apps that only run on
   Windoze)

Why do I feel like making a shortt joke here?
Yes, I got the popup on one of my home machines and I usually just
dismiss it until I have time to remove the KB update -again- (why does
   Microsoft keep overiding my wishes)...
Except -this- time instead of dismissing it, it automatically scheduled
the upgrade. I was like...WTF? I had to manually unschedule it. Now
I'm fearful its automatically doing it to that home computer while I'm
   at work. Not cool.

screw up manufactures all over the country today.

If you don't want this to happen, you have to change the setting in
Widows Update to allow you to chose to install updates.
