Will,
"Pay to educate the mechanics" is a nicer and optimistic perspective
compared to my term for it.
I have been fortunate enough to root out and befriend the best local talent
for transmissions, suspension, tuning, and body work. Lots of great talent
out there and they show it for those who appreciate it. Sounds like a bit
like prostitution for non-car folk, eh?
Trouble I have is when they become friends, they don't want to take your
money and don't ever seem to get around to doing any paid work for you
because they are too busy doing billable stuff.
I guess there may be merit to just becoming a crabby ass hole.
God I like a Friday night.
