Made a few more mods - hope to do a test run this evening, when it is dark
and I can get rid of the backlight challenge.

Added an old computer cooling fan just inboard of the a/c condenser fan.
The design of the a/c fan is not conducive to being spun by the air going
past it. But, those little computer fans - they work.

Did a calibration with the a/c fan going - got right around +1 volt so I now
know +1 volt equals fan running, car not moving. Hopefully I can remember
to turn the fan on a couple of times at speed and see what the meter
indicates.

Also added a digital temperature gauge to the instruments.

I really appreciate all the comments - the thing I learned in my engineering
career is that, no matter how bright I think I am, collaboration will always
bring out a better solution.
