[DeTomaso] Oil Temperatures - Placement of gauges

As a related post to the Oil Temp discussion, has anybody mounted Oil temp
and Fuel Pressure gauges on the front of the engine such that they can be
quickly viewed through the rear view mirror?  If so, please post a few pics
of how and where you mounted them and which gauges do or do not stand up to
the heat in that area.
