[DeTomaso] Hooking an MSD 6AL Rev Limiter to disengage the A/C Compressor

Is it the revs or the high side pressure build up that does in the compressor?

Could it be as easy as using a trinary switch high side limit switch to cut out the compressor clutch?

Hey Rob

A 6AL only limits the coil drive output.

A 6AL-2 or a 6AL plus has a Retard Step output
"Retard Step. This retard is activated when 12 volts are applied and rpm
is above the Step1 Rpm value."

It's meant to keep those 14:1 motors from blowing the teeth off the
ring-gear,
but just program it to go true at 4000 and do your thing with a relay.
