All,
Michael Shortt mentioned me and my connection to the Ford Shelby GT350 track tour in his latest club email. I would like to shed a bit of light behind that program.
FMC contracted with TPRM to fill up two sessions at each of the 8 events. We were responsible for media and the "competitive" makes session.
As a long time Pantera owner (almost 30 years), the first group my team contacted was the area POCA chapters using the contact info in the monthly newsletter. We wanted every member in the area of an individual event to have an opportunity to participate. I believed that Pantera owners were great prospects for the car.
Sadly, some chapters never responded to calls and emails. Others let their members know. A handful of POCA members attended like Nancy and Michael Haney, Dick Koch, Michael Shortt and Forest G. I believe several POCA members were also at the Ariz. event last year. However, the response rate from other marques was MUCH better.
If any POCA member wonders why they did not know about an event in their area, they now know the reason.
Best regards,
