George has already set up a "forum" for specific cars.  And people use it a lot!

(To start you just create your first message/post)

 

I am using this resource much more myself.

Thinking about the kind of content in the original suggestion I suggest PI would be a place.

 

There are other websites, I remember "Car Memories", but I don't know if they are still around.

Yahoo! Groups, etc..

 

But I choose to support the PI resource myself.
