Both of my 70 Torino 351C 4V cars had a bracket from manifold to a stud that was spotted to the air cleaner base. A little fuzzy on just where it bolted to manifold.

Hmm, my '73L (5326) had the blue base, chrome lid, but the snorkel pointed to #1 (forward most cylinder on passenger side). I'm pretty sure that was stock as my car still had the rubberized-cloth, flexible rectangular 'tube' that went from the air-cleaner snorkel down to the actual air intake point near the ground. There was some kind of bracket holding the thing in place that I can't quite remember. Doubtful anyone had gone to the trouble to relocate it from the #8 position.
I had always thought the pre-Ls had the snorkel pointing to #8?

All the US Pantera ones I've seen are blue with chrome lids and a snorkel pointing either to #1 (pre-L) or #8 (Ls & up). The black ones can be found in other Fords etc since about '67 or so & seem identical except for the chrome lid. Can't remember if the wide bodies had cleaners with black or blue bottoms.
