Ron we're a little ahead of you on a few things. Sandi Snyder has been
looking into the possibility of an informal tour at Count's Kustoms. A run
to Hoover Dam is fine, the problem arises as to where to put our cars once
we get there. Secure parking is impossible. Keep in mind, you're in
Vegas where there's always something to do.
At this point the proposed agenda for the 2016 Fun Rally is as follows:
Wednesday, May 11 - Arrival
Thursday, May 12 - Run through Red Rocks park with lunch at Bonnie Springs
Friday, May 13 - POCA car display at Shelby America with a tour of the
facility
Possibility of running on the outside road coarse at LVMS
with another group
Many are making plans to see Jay Leno at the Mirage that
evening
Saturday, May 14 - Presidents' breakfast for Board members and Chapter
representatives in the morning
Brunch run to Mount Charleston, tech session in the
afternoon
Banquet and Raffle in the evening
Sunday, May 15 - Coffee and donuts in the morning
I'm sure Kent will have more in his articles in the upcoming Newsletters.
Hope to see you there
Bob Reid

Judy,
Would there be any harm in posting the preliminary schedule here or
somewhere else where members
could get an idea of what is planned? I have been waiting to make an
announcement to my club
members until I have some sort of idea of what's going to happen. East
coast members do not have the
luxury of waiting until the last minute to schedule their trip to the
Rally as the price of air fare
tends to increase the closer you get to the departure date. Also,
transportation of cars is something
that has to be arranged WELL in advance to achieve the best possible rate.
And that time of the year
is VERY crowded with events in the mid-atlantic and Northeast region of
the US which makes scheduling
difficult. Our driving season is much shorter than some of the members in
the south west.
The sooner the schedule ( even if it is only a preliminary version) is
available, the better the chances
are that people who are on the fence about going make the choice to
attend. And shouldn't Pantera enthusiasts who
are not POCA members be allowed to know what the schedule of events is ?
And if the planners are having a difficult time coming up with ideas for
scheduled events, why
in the world would they not ask the Pantera community for suggestions????
Here are a few off of the top of my head...
1)Group dinner at Piero's Restaurant( the location was used as Joe Peshi's
Character's restaurant in the
movie "Casino" and has AMAZING service /food).
2) Road Rally to Hoover Dam
3)Shelby HQ and Museum tour ( I would assume that Scott Black in Dallas
could easily arrange this??)
4)Tech session at Shelby garage ( Put a Pantera on the lift and have
Pantera experts talk about
technical stuff
5)KISS Museum tour
6) Tour of Count's Kustoms ( shop from the hit TV show " Counting Cars" I
know for a fact that the owner (Danny)
has a black Pantera)
Any one else want to chime in?
Thanks,
Ron McCall

There is one that may have some changes before May but it will be in the
March Newsletter which you - at least some/most - will be be seeing in your
mailboxes next week. With one of the committee members dropping out and
Kent & Sandi back to working the event its kept them busy coming up with ideas
plus a couple things not panning out it made for some really fast changes
already. Stay tuned!

Wednesday is just when people are arriving so nothing really planned.
Hospitality room will be open so a fun time to just great members and
catch up. With everyone arriving at different times it doesn't make
sense to schedule anything. Find a friend and arrange to meet for
dinner!
