Can any of you guys help me make sense of early Pantera chassis numbers? Ours is #02290, built in December 1971. Does that mean it
is the 2290th car built, or were they not sequential? Where did the sequence start - at 0001 or later, as with so many cars? And,
finally, do we know exactly how many of the first series were prototypes and how many had the push-button door handles?

These were presumably the ones Ford had so much trouble modifying after shipment - correct me if I`m wrong. Were they all
hand-built at Chia?

Why someone else has not already steering you to the registry, I don't know.

I run the registry, and I receive so much traffic and questions
that I almost never get time to even read desired mail on this forum.

This also means that I am about a week behind in registry messages... so
be patient.

So... Go to the registry, and create an account.

I'd bet your car is present, most can now be found there.
Use the last 4 digits (2290), drop the leading zero.

You will need to share some fresh photos to earn 'share' access.

Make sure to include photos of your VIN plates, which is necessary to receive
owner control over the entry for Pantera 2290.

There are several parts to the registry, a database, and if photos
have been supplied, a Photo & Detail page. The database entry is only
available to the owner, and it contains ownership history and other details.

The Photo & Detail page is for photos and videos and additional details accessible
to the public/members (people that have shared).

Some areas are available to you even before you share, and I strongly suggest
you start with the FAQs page(s).

I suggest you use the site map to see some of what is available.

Best Regards,

Chuck
