The Amerisport cars I've seen pics of have a different type of side
marker. That doesn't mean your suggestion is wrong of course.

While the odds are that it is a conversión due to the number of each
style 
produced, don't rule it out due to the marker lights. Many US-import
late 
model Panteras had the rectangular, US-style marker lights installed, 
including all the Amerisport cars, IIRC.
