Joe , Nothing to be overly concerned about . There are advantages and disadvantages to painting the trans . There are advantages and disadvantages to polishing the trans . There are advantages and disadvantages to leaving it unfinished or stock . - Jim

Mine was painted too and I'd sure like to strip it, but can't get up the
enthusiasm to pull it for the job.
