[DeTomaso] L bumper stops wind noise ?

The Ford changes were
Added front bracket needed to stiffen steering on first imports.
Lowering the rack to reduce bump steer

The owner changes could have been
Removing spring spacers that were added to meet US bumper height requirement and does lower ground clearance.

I'm not aware of any changes to springs, shocks, anti-roll bars from 71 to 74, did anything change ?

  Over on Facebook "Motorology" someone is claiming the L bumper in front
  stopped a wind noise / buffeting issue.
  Sounds like malarkey to me, but I don't have pre-L to make a comparison
  to.
  Was this ever a thing ?
