[DeTomaso] Future of the email list

Kurt,
Thank you for offering to save the list.
Maybe I am missing something, but I assumed that the POCA forum would be structurally like the PI forum. I can see how that is good for some things, but I like the email based forum much better. It creates dialog and builds a sense of community. I never got that feeling from the PI forum.

Jeff,
I've talked with Michael and we plan on transferring the historical
data. No logistics on how that will happen have been worked out to
date but I'm confident we'll make it happen.
I would like to restate that although I'm willing to keep the list
going, we, as a group, should really give the new forum a chance.

Kurt,
If you do agree to take it over - and I hope you don't have to because
POCA sees the light and keeps it for itself - it is very important that
it comes with all the historical archives of past postings. There is
too much value in those old posts and it would make the email list much
less desirable. Michael has said that POCA will be saving those for use
on the new website but I sure hope he intends on also passing them
along to the new operator of the email list.

I find the format convenient and easy to manage. Although there are
limitations with attachments and such, I'd hate to see it
disappear. I plan on renewing my POCA membership and reading the
new forums and strongly urge all to do so as well.
However, I'd love to give back to the community so I've offered to
keep it going if there's enough interest.
So, is there interest? If so, we'll need a new domain name to host
it. Suggestions?
Kurt
