[DeTomaso] FW: Re: Email Forum Opportunity

The fact is that there has been an alternative forum, much akin to the PI format available on the POCA site for a number of years and despite concerted efforts by a few individuals to drive traffic to the new site it failed dismally. Why is the new site different?

What makes Mr. Shortt believe that forcing everyone to migrate to a new format that the content will be any different unless moderated and censored?

The irony in all that I have read on the subject from Mr. Shortt is in the fact that not that long ago I recall him refusing to join POCA as "it served no use on the east coast" and having some rants of his own against the club. Ain't nothing like a born again Christian preaching to the congregation! Just all say Hallelujah and you can be saved from the demons of the email list!

Dear Michael,

                You wrote:

I would respectfully observe that I did not perceive hate
fill (sic) vitriol and insults and superfluous rants. What I read and
understood was that there is a goodly number of people that are very
happy with the old email system. They detailed the help and benefits
they have obtained from it. Some well respected participants
proceeded to buy Panteras and join POCA. Their comments showed that
despite it's shortcomings, it has served many people very well.
Thoughtful commentary yes. Vitriol, I think not.

"It is the antithesis of a recruiting tool to attract new members."

I would point out the situation of Dan Jones where the
"antithesis of a recruiting tool to attract new members" actually
encouraged him to buy a Pantera and join POCA. He has become a figure
of respect and knowledge in the Pantera community.

So, we shall wait for the new improved POCA Forum and the
"new Old Forum" to appear.

                                 Sincerely, Chuck Engles
