The PI forum was free and my ticket into the Pantera world. Since I had my
membership privileges removed from the PI forum, I'm happy and content to
see emails from all of you. I guess I feel strongly about this topic due
to my experience on the PI forum.

A A When it was relatively new, I joined Shane Ingate's DeTomaso
email
A A forum on a lark.AA I'd recently blown up the first 351C I'd
ever built
A A and knew Panteras run Cleveland V8s so maybe I'll join and pick
those
A A guys brains.AA I'd never entertained the idea of purchasing an
exotic
A A car like a Pantera as I didn't think I'd fit and was put off by
what I
A A assumed would be a Ferrari-like cost of maintenance.AA
Coincidentally,
A A one of the first threads was on fitting a tall driver in a
Pantera and,
A A over the following months, I learned that Pantera owners were
often
A A gearheads who had disassembled and reassembled their cars,
learned how
A A to modify, maintain and repair them and were willing to share
that
A A knowledge freely.AA Maybe, just maybe, Pantera ownership would
be
A A within my reach so I joined POCA (and later PI) and met some
members
A A who schooled me on the ins and outs of purchasing a Pantera.A
A A Eventually, I found a Pantera, made a deal and was on the
adventure of
A A a lifetime.AA Without that forum, which welcomed outsiders
like me, I
A A would have never joined the forum, likely never bought a
Pantera, never
A A started the 351 Cleveland dyno project nor met all the great
people
A A I've met along the way.AA I think my life would have been
poorer
A A without it and if that means that I, as a dues paying POCA
member, need
A A to subsidize a few free riders along the way, that's a price
I'm
A A willing to pay.AA Anyone else feel that way?AA You can always
have a
A A premium section for dues paying members only, if you'd like.
