Hi guys,

I shipped a couple of those cheap E-bay Ferrari steering racks to a friend
in Europe recently. (They are discussed in an article by Richard Barkely
in the most current POCA newsletter.)

When he went to install one on one of his Panteras, he discovered that the
tie rod (not the tie rod END, but rather the tie rod itself) was not
properly attached to the rack, and he was able to simply unthread it a couple of
turns and remove it by hand! Had that happened while the car was underway,
it would have been a catastrophe.

It was fairly simple for him to install it and stake it in place properly.
He found the other side loose as well. But one shouldn't have to do this
to a brand new part.

So be warned--if you have installed one of these on your car, take a few
minutes to ensure that the tie rods are properly affixed. The life you save
may be your own!
