Subject: [DeTomaso] Marvic Wheels to remake Campagnola 10x15 ready for deposits

Not only are the Mr Fiat wheels in aluminium, made by Andrea ROIN in Verona , see http://www.rointechnology.com/indexx.php?link=catalogo_cerchi.php&marca=detomaso
, while Marvic's are magnesium, but the design of the Roin wheels, while very good, is NOT identical to the original model that were on the Panteras in 1972, mainly GTS ( as an option ) or GR3 ( standard ) I have bought several sets of 10 inch wheels from Andrea Roin in the past, either directly or for friends, and the quality of their wheels is absolutely perfect.
Yet, the price difference is effectively, important If my memory is correct , Roin 10 inch wheel costs, ex factory in Italy,
around 800 euros, maybe a little more now, not sure ... ( around 900 US
dollars ) per wheel while Marvic's is priced at ??? I don't remember.
No matter what, my feeling is that buying a Marvic wheel is the best choice , and by far. Here is why : the quality of the components is extremely high, it is lighter than an aluminium wheel, and the design of the wheel is
100 % original.
The prize difference will be long forgotten when you will see them on your car. When time will come , you will re-sell your car with the " perfect"
wheels, not the " replica"
Needless to say that the car looks way better with 10 inch than with 8 inch, as we most have. I also allows larger tires, increasing the grip on the rear I will be glad to assist anyone who wants to have further details.
I met with Pier ( the owner ) and Silvia ( the export manager ) when they had the intention to reproduce the factory GR4 Campi wheels for Candy, and I brought them my original wheels, to make sure everything would be mirror image. the result was exceeding expectation. Even the weight was the same , around 7.6 kilos for the rear wheel After now almost two years of collaboration with Marvic and more particularly Silvia Framba, the export manager, I can tell you that those people are real professionals, very responsive when need be , and they stand behind their products in the unlikely event a problem would occur.
Enjoy the F1procession ....
