[DeTomaso] IR FI system

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your comments!

I did get to talk to the actual owner of the company (who seems to be same person that develops the parts); you are right, it is the same person that owns Procomp brand.
It is Australian company based in NSW and apparently all the development work is done there while manufacturing is outsourced in different places, including China.
I believe throttle bodies are made in China.

"You would have to weld up a 2V intake to make it seal against Yates heads."
After talking to him again I believe it could be possible to slide the whole intake higher up to match the port holes on Yates C3.
Apparently the bolt holes are elongated and it is possible to mount it onto CHI 3V heads; as it is split design it is possible to slide it up on the head.

"50mm = 1.9685 inches which is a lot smaller than your Yates intake valves."
Yes, my intake valves are 2.1 inch, but, at the same time my intake ports are ported to 39x51mm, cross section area (taking into account rounded corners) is 2.95 square inch while 50mm bore of the throttle body would make 3.05 square inch.
Would that mean that 50mm throttle body could be a good match or is it better to have throttle body larger than intake port on the head?

I am waiting for them to provide me with intake manifold template and will share it if/once I get it.
Since the price is good I might in the end take a chance and, in worst case, I could later replace throttle bodies with different once that would fit same IDA style manifold.

All the best, Robert

Speedmaster = Procomp.

The Procomp website redirects to Speedmaster now. Is he claiming the parts are manufactured in Australia or just that the person or company that commissioned them is based in Australia and the parts are made in China?
Being made in China isn't necessarily a bad thing but being made in China to Procomp standards of design and quality control is.

2V heads and would have enough material to port it to fit 4v or my Yates C3 heads.

You would have to weld up a 2V intake to make it seal against Yates heads.
The bottom of a 2V port is way lower than the bottom of a Yates port. Take a Yates intake gasket and lay it on top of a 2V intake gasket. Note how far off the port locations are and the areas which will need to be welded up and how far the roof will need to be raised. Make sure you leave enough material for a gasket to seal at the top off the port. Their engineer should be able to provide you with port template with the outline of the ports and the bolt hole locations.

be adequate for 416ci engine that made 675Hp at 6500rpm on engine dyno with Holley 850 carburetor on single plane high intake.

50mm = 1.9685 inches which is a lot smaller than your Yates intake valves.
I'd expect them to limit peak power.
