[DeTomaso] Turn Signal Enclosure Mounting Screw and Potential For Smoke

The driver's side turn signal trim enclosure mounts to the turn signal
housing with a machine screw. The length of this screw is critical.
The spring in the image is at 12V when the headlamps are ON. If the
enclosure mounting screw is too long, the screw can pass through the turn signal
enclosure mounting tab and contact the spring. If the screw contacts the
spring, smoke will be generated when the headlamps are turned ON.
When installing the mounting screw for the driver side enclosure, be sure
to use the OEM mounting screw and be sure that the screw does not bottom out
against anything.
The passenger's side trim enclosure does not have this potential problem.
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
Do the best you can with what your have where you are.
