Is there any trace of the original color on that thing, 1974 US GTS models
only came in three colors,
60 were Silver/Black, 60 were Burgundy/Black and 30 were Yellow/Gold /Black

Patrick,
That hole doesn't look like it's in the right place. I have a 74
U.S. GTS and I don't remember the clock hole being that close to the
dash vent. I'll know for sure in a couple hours when I get home but
I believe the clock on a U.S. GTS is directly in front of the
passenger. Also, the hole looks kinda crude.
Not to mention the U.S. GTSs do not have the Isis (DeTomaso
insignia) in the speedometer and tach like this one does.
Which isn't to say they haven't been changed, but only the U.S. GTSs
have GT in the VIN.

in
A the dashboard for a ... clock ! Clocks were found only ( not quite
sure
A ) on GTS models, both EU and US..
A I was quite interested to see how things went, because it has an
A alleged original dashboard ( so described by the seller ) A that
looks
A like an original GTS dashboard.
A Does anyone know the VIN ? How can I identify for sure an L model
from
A a GTS ( US or EU ) model, apart from when there is an original
A dashboard with a " GTS clock" .... Chuck ? Mike ? Any specific
chassis
A info ?A
A This period was a shadowy period, as GTS 1974 models were discarded
at
A smog tests emission control in California in 1974, so de Tomaso
decided
A to put all remaining "old" 1973 chassis A as 1973, and not 1974, (
and
A no one seems to know which was what, or what type it was ... )
A I have an original Bill Van Ess registry in my archives, but it
makes
A things no clearer.... A
A Enjoy digging A :>)))
A Thank you all !
