[DeTomaso] Tire size needed 285/40r15

Michael,

It has a little less tread than I would like to run on the street. Also
the $700.00 per tire gives me a little pucker. I guess I may have to
step up to something in that price range.

Thanks,
jerry

   Michael,
It has a little less tread than I would like to run on the street.
Also the $700.00 per tire gives me a little pucker. I guess I may have
to step up to something in that price range.
   Thanks,

I have a front tire splitting in the tread on my 71 GT-5
     replica. It
        is a 285/40 ZR15 Yokohama AVA AV1-40. I understand this
     particular
Yoko is out of production for some time, but I need to replace it
     or
get 2 new matching Front tires.
If memory serves they are available in Europe. I don't remember
where. I have found a set of 285/40r15 Michelin VHC for 387 lb
sterling, I don't particularly like the tread for the street.
At this point the Z rating is not a requirement for my driving of
     this
        car.
Anyone have current info on this size availability?
        Thanks in advance,
        jerry knotts
