[DeTomaso] Electronic Delivery of newsletters / Profiles

There is a pretty easy solution to satisfy the "hard" nosed crowd  and 
the rest of the folks that would be amenable to modernizing the POCA 
publication delivery system.

Those members that don't have the time, talent, or incentive to print 
out an electronic copy, those members pay the going rate of $75 a year 
for a membership and would get hard copy as usual.

Those that would like to see something as I have outlined set up, their 
dues goes to $50 a year (or whatever the number works out to be).  The 
"hard" nosed crowd still get "serviced" the same as now and pay what 
they have been used to paying, and the majority of the remaining members 
pay the lower dues.

With the reduced price and delivering a better value add to members 
(more news/more often/more easily accessed), the club will be in a 
position to attract more members, ergo more revenue for the club.

The club needs to embrace new ways of reaching the limited number of 
Panteras that are left world wide (4,000 or so)?, and generate continued 
interest in the marque to keep it alive and flourishing.

While I don't intend to conduct a pole of all my Pantera brethren 
friends, I would bet you a dollar to a donut that the majority of those 
Pantera owners (most not a member of POCA for the same reason I had not 
been for a couple decades) would take advantage of the lower of the two 
tier setup, as mentioned by Scott and others.  Some of the money saved 
in hard copy and mailing the publications, would be available to set up 
the library and distribution system.

Talking about hard copy, since I bought my Pantera 40 years ago 
(12/15/1974), I have accumulated enough Pantera pubs and documentation 
to fill the shelves and cabinets that take up half of my office wall.  I 
still have Hall's 1975 catalog (and many other vendors over the years) I 
picked up at his shop when I spent a month in 1975 with Lance Nist and 
Roy Butfoy turbo charging and upgrading my ZF.

Yes, I like hard copy to, but there comes a point that making the 
information in those publications and documentation more readily 
accessible makes sense, if nothing but for posterity and the ongoing 
building of a library accessible to future owners of the Pantera that 
will help keep the marque around and center stage for a long time to come..

going this route, both to reduce cost and provide
more timely service to its
customers.

An archive of all the Newsletters could be maintained, with an
index by year
and topic, with free access granted to those that were members at
the time
of the newsletters, Plus for new members that wanted to have access to
old
newsletters and certain topics, POCA could charge a fee for that
access.

POCA reduces substantially the cost to mail the newsletters, provides
an
additional asset to produce income, drives members to the POCA
website,
provides a way to reduce the membership fees, and generates a great
sales
incentive for members to sign up.
