[DeTomaso] What's wrong with campaigning?

Thank you! We're way overdue for innovations for the total betterment of this Club. I don't understand all the secrecy. It's pointless unless the aim is to have some control over the elections. I thought we were done with that.
And I do not think that Old Timers have any more valid opinions or deserve any more attention than NEW members. In fact shorter term members are probably far more objective, progressive, and dedicated to the true purpose of belonging. And furthermore, I don't see why so much of the election process is controlled by the Newsletter. I believe, now that we are modernizing, the candidates statements should be published on the POCA Website, with their unabridged biographies. A picture would be nice too so we can match statements with the person.

I agree. Doing it the old way with no campaigning means keeping the status quo. It's time to shake things up.

What's so different now Judy? In years past I recall Board Members not
only endorsing their favorites of people running, and not only that, a
Board Member who actually sent out personal letters to all 1000 or so
members when he wished to endorse someone running. I think it's
informative and interesting to read different peoples' perspectives on
those who are running. I say speak on!!!
