OK, I got it wrong (Jack you were right), I meant 225/50-15. And I found
this cool pantera
web site that has pictures of what those tires look like on a stock pantera:
http://www.californiaclassix.com/archive/72_Pantera_c467.html
But what is the most remarkable is I received such a fast response! You
all deserve a pat on
the back. I don't even get that kind of response from my famly :-( The
Pantera family rocks!
Thank you all and hope see you on the road soon.

Just doing a little math,
the thread width of 255 would be 255/25.4 = 10"A (25.4mm per inch) the
diameter would be the thread width X aspect X 2 + rim = 10 X 0.50 X 2
+15 = 25"
Thus the 10" tread on a 7" rim would be too much, but the 25" is close
to
the original 25.2"
my notes imply a 215 on the front might rub

David,
255/50?A I know of nobody making such tires and if they did, they
would be
WAY too tall.
I'm assuming you made a typo and meant 225/50?A Those would fit
perfectly.
Although they might be a bit happier on 8-inch wheels in the front,
they
should work fine on 7-inch wheels.
Cheers!
