[DeTomaso] Speedo KPH

My euro GTS has a speedometer showing km/hr but I've never seen one that had the red band from from 150 km/hr to 300 km/hr.
I'm assuming this was somehow related to the ridiculous regulations that required US speedometers to top out at 85 mph during the 55 mph speed limit days. My 1980 Honda motorcycle has an 85 mph speedo with a red line at 55. That said, it doesn't make sense since the km speedo would not have been used on American cars and I'm not aware of any other country that imposed the understated speedos.
I'm guessing no other country's officials really believed that people would not drive faster than what the speedo indicated.

Ed,
Photo didn't come through for me. All non-north America cars came with
kph speedos. Some later cars (GT5-S) had both mph and kph on the same gauge.
