Just wondering, what type of shoes are you guys wearing when experiencing the brake pedal problems?
Most driving shoes have a narrow profile to allow use in confined areas even in larger sizes.

I understand. Eons ago when Judy and I were autocrossing weekly in two
different series, one of the Panteras ran stock rubber pads on the
brake & clutch pedals. After each of my runs, the rubber brake cover
was laying on the floor and the owner would reinstall it for his runs.
This continued for 5 years.....  I couldn't convince him to mod the
pedals or even leave the cocers off. Judy and he either had smaller
feet or braked more deliberately than I did. Too bad his car was faster
  than ours.

Seems like a great solution.  In my car, with the screw in place holding the kick panel out of the way, my size 11's didn't cope well with quick movements from gas to brake.  Given the risk associated with any hesitation  when going for the brakes in a panic situation, I am extremely pleased with my "savaged" brake pedal.  And, well, with judicious use of a large clamp,  one can gently bend the arm in place!

Many years ago (late '80's if I recall), Jack Richards wrote an article about this very problem in a POCA newsletter or Profiles. With the brake pedal out of the car, he removed the pedal pad in its entirety. He made a new one, the exact same shape and thickness, but welded it back on, offset about half-an-inch to the left.
