[DeTomaso] Seat Slides

As everyone in this group knows, buying a car is always a bit of a hope and a prayer situation. 5332 has surprised me a few times. I suppose the engine was the rudest – talked to all the previous owners, engine never been rebuilt, but, well, I sort of doubt that the factory bored the holes 0.030 over or welded on the crank or the flywheel to balance things.
Then there was the spare inner tie-rod end cup (those funny, thick washers with an cup on one side, the other side presses against the end of the rack) on one side of the rack.
It has been amusing, but the good news - she is drivable again!

Dear Stephen,
Wow. That is a new one. I happen to know some of that car's history and it is hard to understand which of the previous owners should take the rap for this miscarriage of mechanically secure fastening!!
You might check with some of the vendors. They may have seat slides from customers going to Recaros, etc. They may also have some new slides.
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
