So tempted to use the stuff her in OK but law says not to be used in motor
vehicles. Go figure. It's OK to have a giant propane tank in your car but
not to use a highly refined propane in you’re A/C. Who's getting paid off
here?
The original R12 works absolutely great in my car. R134a...not so much.

I have installed DURACOOL (a R12a type system in Canada) 5 years ago in my
wife's car after I replaced the failed airconditioning compressor with a new
one.
Works great. I intend to install the same in my Pantera.
Highly recommended after a proper job is done (evacuate the system, check
for leaks, fill etc.)

Dear Dennis,
So, with #7260 I assume that your AC still uses R12. My #7171
does
too. The practical and politically incorrect option that is elegantly
simple is to check your local Craigslist for R12 Freon. Old genuine
R12 is
still out there. As the demand for it is quite low, the price of it
has
returned to earth compared to the early days before and after the R135
transition. Just buy some real R12 and use it without any of the
worrisome
considerations of substitutes. I used pound of freon to top off the
Pantera
before the run to Houston.

Here is the link, seems it should work without much retrofit. I don't
know a
lot about AC systems. Any thoughts from those that do?
