[DeTomaso] hood fitment between years?

Sorry if I am late to this topic but I have been offline. Fitment issues
will vary slightly from car-to-car, yet there is a significant difference
in the Ford era and non-Ford era cars. After Ford pulled out of the Pantera
program, they took their tooling (which was destroyed) with them.
DeTomaso used different tooling from then on. I learned this the hard way when
over a decade ago I had the first true 100% carbon fiber bonnet (hood) built
for my 72 Pre-L made using a post ford era Hood as a guide. The taper
between the headlights had changed, and the length difference was about 3/4" of
an inch.

I think hood fitment may even be down to individual cars, I have been (and
still am) looking for a steel hood for my GT5 and heard many stories of
hood's not fitting between vehicles even of the same year. Best to be
prepared for some work on any hood, if you get one that fit's straight up consider
it a plus.

Friends, I'm potentially interested in acquiring a hood from another
Pantera guy. Have I read that not all Pantera hoods are exactly the same on
71-74 cars? What would I look for as far as fitment issues for my late 72
L?
Thank you!
