[DeTomaso] AC Switch replacement. Easy or what have I gotten myself into?

Stephen There are two probes. One is the expansion valve control and is the one you referenced. The other is connected to the AC control switch and is for anti icing and/or temperature control. I believe the one Dave has broken is the one from the anti icing switch. It is inserted into the housing between the heating and cooling coils and there is a tech service bulletin on how far in it goes. Forest

My A/C temperature probe was clipped to the outside of the expansion valve - under the black sticky insulation stuff - which Napa has for like $20 for a big roll.

Is the broken piece still in the heater box? If so you need to get it out in order to install a new one. You should be able to do this without removing the dash.Good luck

Anyone replaced one of these. I broke the tube going from the switch to
wherever the other end ends up. Am I going to have to rip the dash
  apart?
